Currently, the Child Aid Guinea-Bissau – Water, Energy and Sanitation project was implemented through the project funded by TESE and the European Union. The project was implemented in villages in Oio Region and villages in Bafata Region, with an estimated population of 65.000 inhabitants.
The project in 2022 worked closely with the Directorate for Water Resources directorate to secure the communities ready to be declared ODF (Open Defecation Free). They were visited with the team which could make this declaration.
Out of 650 communities, 300 communities maintain ODF (Open Defecation Free POCOMA) status. And of the 350 new Communities, 256 communities have been certified as Open Defecation free by 2022.
The project is supported by TESE and European Union and Humana People to People partners.
